Gift Giving Guide

A wishlist serves the purpose of clarifying what types of gifts a companion adores. If you choose to purchase a gift from a companion's wishlist, doing so is a thoughtful and welcomed act of care.

On my wishlist, I include various types of gifts. Of course I love receiving luxury gifts. Still, the simplest pleasures like tea or household items are greatly appreciated.

Being Caribbean, I'm pleased when I receive a treat that shows that someone payed attention to my heritage or took the time to research rare or high quality gifts from that region. I've received delectable single origin chocolate from Grenada, elite Blue Mountain coffee, and fine rum from various countries I was blessed to savor.       

If you are a suitor thinking of acquiring a gift for a companion, have fun with the process. Take pride in demonstrating your level of consideration. The energy and intention you invest will be felt. 

Years ago, a sweet gentleman gifted me eucalyptus and spearmint bath salts and tools for hurricane preparedness. Aromatherapy is immensely soothing for me, so I'm always thankful for divinely scented bath and body products or candles. The included items were especially memorable for additional reasons. 

At the time, I was a New Orleans transplant. Lifelong Louisiana locals are oftentimes more acutely aware of what supplies are needed to weather a storm. So I was touched by him valuing my safety and getting me a gift that prompted me to think more thoroughly about what else I needed to do or acquire to prepare for a possible storm. 

When searching for and selecting a gift, think about your sweetheart. When she receives a notification about your wishlist purchase or you hand her her gift, imagine her reaction. What feelings do you want your gift to evoke? It could be a utilitarian gift that provides a sense of protection or fills an ongoing need. On the other hand, the gift you have in mind may be lavish and meant to stir up feelings of opulence or usher in softness. Whatever you decide on, trust that it will be received in the spirit in which you give it.

Reintroducing Lena Duvall

I'm back again! After taking a two year hiatus, I started reengaging as a companion in Summer 2023. Then I went on a briefer several months long break earlier this year. One more turn around the sun has me reflecting on so much. I know it's cliché, but I do feel wiser. And I'll let you in on a secret.. Though I'm a younger looking 30 something—I'm in my late mid thirties to be precise—I've always felt like an old soul. That sentiment is manifesting in some very interesting ways for me in this stage of my life.
